Released in 2020, the Seiko Prospex SPB194J1 is the fifteenth edition in Seiko’s Thailand-exclusive Zimbe collection, with production limited to just 1,500 individually numbered examples. “Zimbe” takes its name from the Japanese word for whale shark, with the collection drawing inspiration from the marine environments encountered on its journeys. This example bears limited edition number 151/1500.

For Zimbe No. 15, Seiko drew inspiration from Cape Manzamo, the famous coastal cliffs of Okinawa, Japan, particularly the golden evening light illuminating the surrounding sea. Its distinctive gold dial features a textured wave pattern that reflects this theme, complemented by a black bezel insert, gold-tone bezel and crown, and a two-tone stainless steel bracelet.

The edition combines this specific design with an individually numbered caseback, dedicated presentation packaging, and an additional rubber strap. Its restricted production and original Thailand-market distribution distinguish it within the broader Prospex Sumo collection.

Powering the watch is Seiko’s caliber 6R35 automatic movement, offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve, manual winding, and hacking seconds. Features include a sapphire crystal, LumiBrite hands and hour markers, a date display at 3 o’clock, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and a screw-down crown. The model carries a factory water-resistance rating of 200 meters.
