Vintage 1977 Seiko 6138-8030 “John Player Special” automatic chronograph in a 40mm stainless steel case, featuring the 21-Jewel Seiko 6138 automatic movement. This Seiko is running well, keeping time (wrist tested), with the chronograph functioning properly and all registers resetting to “0”
The acrylic crystal is clear with no scratches or mars. The internal black tachymeter bezel is clean, with crisp lettering and numerals. Overall the dial is in wonderful condition, with light speckling around the dial edges. The lume on the indices is present, but shows an excellent aged patina.
Overall the case is in good condition, with both the directionally brushed center and sides, as well as the polished side uppers and lowers. The case does show light marks consistent with age and use, but no significant scratches or dents.
This Seiko is paired with a vintage two-piece “President-Style” stainless steel bracelet with an adjustable buckle.
